CLINICAL EXPERIENCE IN COUPLES COUNSELING

Complementing her unique clinical experience in couples counseling, Jessica also draws from her first Masters in Human Development. She will help you understand how your experiences, and your responses to your experiences, are within the spectrum of normal human emotion, thought, and behavior. People tend to feel relief when they know that they are, “Not the only one going through this,” and “It makes perfect sense now why I feel this way.”

She has called Kansas City, Vermont, New York, Chapel Hill/Durham, San Francisco, and now Charleston home. Her personal and professional experience in these diverse, vibrant communities has profoundly influenced her ability to create a safe and validating therapeutic environment where you can grow.

Jessica earned a BA in Art History and American Literature from Middlebury College in Vermont. She then received a MSEd from the progressive Bank Street Graduate College of Education in New York City where she focused on infant and adult attachment. Although after this she had planned to complete a PhD in Developmental Psychology at Columbia University she accidentally developed a new skill and passion: ancient goldsmithing. She practiced as a master goldsmith for 10 years before returning to pursue psychology and her second graduate degree which she did at the Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina where she and her family now reside.

Jessica is dedicated to professional development and regularly participates in national conferences in the areas of couples counseling, dynamic individual therapy, and sex therapy.
